McDuck 0 #1 October 3, 2003 (Canned opening here) "This may be a stupid question, but..." My girlfriend and I just got our A license cards from USPA this week, and I think I'm being just a bit too anal. They spelled my last name wrong. Now, under normal circumstances, I can generally spell my own last name with a fair amount of accuracy, since I tend to jot it down a few times a day for practice. I'm sure I filled out the application info correctly, clogged sinuses notwithstanding. Now, I'm thinking I'll let it stand until I apply for my B license. Is this something I should even be letting one synapse fire over?Kevin - Sonic Beef #5 - OrFun #28 "I never take myself too seriously, 'cuz everybody know fat birds don't fly." - FLC Online communities: proof that people never mature much past high school. AggieDave 6 #2 October 3, 2003 Yup, you should, they may have it wrong in their system too. It would be better to fix it now then later. Check http://www.uspa.org and e-mail them. They'll take care of you.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
bendywendy 0 #3 October 3, 2003 You may have spelled it correctly but did you print it clearly?? I fax in forms to the USPA for people all the time and I'm amazed at some of the junk they send in. They could all be Doctors from what I've seen of the way they fill out forms. Or then again, someone could have made a typo - either way I'd fix it. Flygator 0 #4 October 3, 2003 I'd fix it Kevin. You pay the 20 bucks, then they should get the name right! C U at the DZ! You jumping today??? I'll for sure be there today! McDuck 0 #5 October 3, 2003 You're right, I paid good, dirty money (what? they weren't brand new bills or anything) for that license. I'm going to march right up to my computer and give them a piece of my mind, from the safety of electronic email and distance. Translation? "I'm going to politely inform them of the discrepancy, and humbly ask for them to look into it." I went jumping on Wednesday with Cora, but I'm stuck inside this blasted (wishful thinking) building with no windows all day, and well into the night. Fridays should be a mandatory short work day. I'm 5'11", so I shouldn't have to work. We'll be out there bright and early (meaning, as soon as I can get Cora up and active) Saturday morning. We're bringing the fixings for her superb soup. Are you staying for the big shindig that evening? I'm bringing a change of soul for that event...things seems to get "interesting" after hours there. McDuck 0 #6 October 9, 2003 I finally got around to emailing them about the misspelling of my name on my card and they responded within five minutes that it had been corrected and that my new card would be arriving in ten days. bigfritz 0 #7 October 9, 2003 I joined USPA before I got my A license. I sent in my A license forms and I was wondering if they'll send me another USPA card that says I have my A license on it? Right now that spot is blank. ------------------------ Freefly, baby.
McDuck 0 #8 October 9, 2003 They should be sending you a new card with your A-License # on it. How long ago did you send in your forms?Kevin - Sonic Beef #5 - OrFun #28 "I never take myself too seriously, 'cuz everybody know fat birds don't fly." - FLC Online communities: proof that people never mature much past high school. bigfritz 0 #9 October 9, 2003 I had the proficiency card all filled out about a month ago, but I probably only sent it in a week ago. ------------------------ Freefly, baby.
McDuck 0 #10 October 9, 2003 Yeah, it takes them roughly 4-5 weeks to send your card out. It was about that slow for mine, but that may have been due to all of the last minute submits trying to get in under the Oct 1 deadline, you know, before the regs changed.
