ematteo 0 #1 October 18, 2003 Hello Tandem Masters - If you could fund unlimited personal skydives, would you still do a lot of Tandems? If yes, why - what about Tandems keeps you going? Thanks!
AggieDave 6 #2 October 18, 2003 Yes, I would still love doing tandems. Its all about the students man, the energy they give off is addicting. That excitement. Getting to share their first jump with them. All in all its great.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
slotperfect 7 #3 October 18, 2003 My personal reason is not listed in your poll. I do tandems for two reasons: 1) I love sharing the sport with people for their first skydive, up close and personal. I can literally feel their energy, and their thrill becomes mine. 2) I thrive on the responsibility. Not just from the increased risk, or being responsible for two lives instead of one, but mainly because people are trusting me as a safe space for them to bust up their comfort zone, conquer fears, and go where they have never gone before. It is an honor for me to be that space for them. Tandems are at times a lot of work, and on every jump require additional strength and concentration. I love all of it! MikeTJumps 4 #5 October 18, 2003 You bet I'd continue doing Tandem jumps, because the wonderful vibes that it brings to the students makes all of my skydiving worthwhile! .Mike Turoff Instructor Examiner, USPA Co-author of Parachuting, The Skydiver's Handbook
