JeffD 0 #1 October 19, 2003 Alright well I did my aff level 2 about an hour ago and it was great/and a little unnerving. Here it goes. Went out to the DZ with all intentions to jump then I just sat around and watched for a bit. JC came over and asked me what was up and talked me back into jumping today. went through the training etc. got a PD-300 and loaded the plane. Great exit, two Practice Pulls went fine. Altimiter ,Left turn, altimiter, right turn, Reserve side JM let go and floated up front, Main JM said he was barely holding on, I got a little tense and potatochiped a little then got stable. RSJM redocked , ~ 7000' some light clouds, 6000' lock on, 5000' Wave/pull, one thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four thousand, altimiter 4000', looked at Main JM, back to look at altimiter and then I felt the bag come off my back and deploy(main JM said he took his hand and basically tossed the bag out of the container). 3-4 line twists. and I stood up the landing!!! YAY. Well I asked my JM what happend and he told me that the PC is just getting old and didn't have enough pull to pull the main out of the container because of (burble, 300sqft canopy, etc) so when I dropped off the container to be repacked He removed the PC and is going to fix the problem. Did I do the right thing and wait? or should I have cutaway and pulled reserve. I know that I am alive and thats all that matters and if I had gotten any lower I would have deployed my res but it worked out. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
