wmw999 2,547 #5 October 24, 2003 Well, the frap hat's gone down in price -- it used to be about $70 if I remember. Who says inflation hits everything? Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. steve1 5 #10 October 24, 2003 That's why I buy most of my stuff used. Yes, I'm a cheap-skate....There are some really good buys out there now on used stuff. I bought my Z-1 for $30. from the gear shop in Elsinore. It's kind of fun shopping around for bargains....Steve1

Lew, I don't buy at ParaGear either, just used as a point of reference. $7000 less 30% = $4900. Thats still alot of cash. rickfri59 0 #23 October 24, 2003 I clearly remember the waiver I signed the first night of AFF training. In part it read: "Don't bother trying to sue the DZ, the eqiupment manufacturer, the pilot, etc., because you'll never have enough money to hire a Lawyer as long as you continue to jump." jumpgod 0 #24 October 24, 2003 it's not cheap but neither is safety. i'd rather spend a small fortune on state of the art equipment and land safely than otherwise. try throwing some 'new used inspected' equipment to the list. when i first bought my rigg (over 3 years ago now) i bought a new container and reserve and bought a used main. chances are, as a new jumper, you'll buy a new one relatively soon anyways. the little extras waited a few months and i used DZ equipment."dude, where's my main?"
