bmoore21184 0 #1 November 2, 2003 I have 23 jumps, have my a license, and i almost always end up jumping solo. I have only jumped with someone else once since AFF (4 AFF jumps). It kinda gets lonely out there after a while. Are there any cool things to do by yourself? tricks? exits? something that i havent thought of yet that i could do on my dive.s I dont think i will really have the opportunity to jump with anyone here real soon, arent many fun jumpers out there now that it is cold and all my friends that i started with are still on student status. Anyways I was just wondering if there was something new I could be doing besides the 360's and flips over and over. Thanks B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
quade 4 #2 November 2, 2003 First, I'll assume you have gear suitable to fly in all positions and speeds. Ask for a gear check from an instructor and tell him you're going to try a little simple freefly stuff. You don't need a fancy jumpsuit for any of this. In fact, a sweat shirt and jeans works pretty damn good! Never lose altitude awareness and always go back to belly to earth 1000 feet above your planned pull altitude so that you have a few seconds to slow back down. Take at least a few skydives doing each so that you have a few moments to play with things. Have you tried; Flying on your back Flying on your back while maintaining a heading Tracking on your back Exiting on your back Transitioning from flying on your back to sitting Sitting and not rotating Sitting and making turns in a precision manner Exiting in a sit Transitioning from sitting to standing Standing and not rotating Standing and making turns in a precision manner I have over 1700 jumps and still can't do all these things as well as I'd like. Of course, I mostly jump belly to earth doing camera jumps, so I don't practice this stuff as much as I'd like.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
bmoore21184 0 #3 November 3, 2003 Cool thanks a lot, I will give some of that stuff a try for sure. I am pretty sure my gear is good for that kind of stuff but i will double check. Thanks again. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
bch7773 0 #4 November 3, 2003 make sure you try all sorts of exits. I'm not sure what plane your DZ has, but there all tons of fun exits you'd never think of untill you ask. you can always just tuck into a ball, and just roll out. Stay tucked up for a bit (peek at your alti or count to 10 or something) you can really get spinning pretty good. MB 3528, RB 1182
