Serious Question - MS Boogie

Recommended Posts

I saw somewhere that there was an MS (multiple sclerosis) Boogie at one of the DZs, not sure where. Does anyone know where it was so I can find out more about how they organized it? I'd like to try to get one organized here in Colorado for next year or so.

If anyone has any info, it'd be greatly appreciated.:)

Chicagoland (CSC/Hinckley) has a Skydiving for MS Boogie every year. The proceeds of tandems done that day go to MS and they have a huge auction of stuff donated from various sources. The big prize each year is 100 jumps, there's also altimeters, protracks, gift certificates from numerous companies and lots of non-skydiving related prizes. This year's boogie raised $8000.

Some details can be found here: http://www.nationalmssociety.org/ILD/event/event_detail.asp?e=456

OH! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! That's AWESOME! I work with the MS community and they inspire me everyday..their courage and spirit. I support many MS Walks and the MS 150 bike ride, but I want to do more..The NMMS is actually headquartered here in Denver.
Thanks for the info!:)

You're welcome. :)
Dave Perez (a jumper with MS) has organised the Hinckley one for the last few years and is definitely the man to talk to - he's just as passionate as you are about it. I think his contact details are somewhere in that link, otherwise just contact Hinckley and ask for his details.

Good luck!

Yea, Eiley's still doing manifest for us over 10s of 1000s of miles away.

Love you so much - thank you for responding.

RkyMtnHigh... the boogie is a great time! Live music & all.
The regular fun jumpers make a set donation for raffle tix for the prizes & there's so many people having a good time - really great to see.

This year (my 1st one) there was a boogie fee that provided a t-shirt & food for the day. You didn't have to pay the fee to participate in the other events though.

There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear.

PMS #227 (just like the TV show)
