dkf1979 0 #1 November 10, 2003 Well, i've only got 3 S/L jumps. And now winter. I went 2 weeks ago, and the weather was only 45 degrees... And my hands were frozen under the canopy. So, people actually jump when it's 30 degrees on the ground?http://bodypilot.bounceme.net

So, people actually jump when it's 30 degrees on the ground? Yep. Made 3 jumps this weekend, from full altitude. Its cold but gloves make it better. I really wish I had a full face. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. jumpinfarmer 0 #3 November 10, 2003 It's ffen cold here to. Made my last jump in the rain from 5500ft, rain feels like gravel at terminal. Buy some tight fitting gloves like machanics or something, they work good for jumping. I hope to get at least one more this year!

jmpnkramer 0 #8 November 10, 2003 Although I have jumped in some pretty extreme temperatures I cannot relate these days. It was 86+ on Saturday when I was jumping. Even got in a nice night jumps. I have been known to jump in pretty cold weather for special occasions though. Like KatieBear's 100TH!!!! Laters, KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!!The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! EricaH 0 #10 November 10, 2003 I didn't jump on Sat, it was 37 on the ground & -10 @ altitude, who knows what the wind chill was. But we sent up 6 loads & 16 tandems Sunday warmed up to about 45 on the gound. Fingers hurt a bunch, but not too bad enough I guess, I did 3 jumps. I won't go if it's under 50 & there's fog or any moisture in the air - that HURTS!! There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. selbbub78 0 #11 November 10, 2003 probably about 40 here on sunday, did 5 jumps. Honestly, i can't wait to start landing in the snow. That's got to be an awesome feeling. FrogNog 1 #12 November 10, 2003 > ... who knows what the wind chill was. Well, it should be easy to compute. Just find someone's wind chill calculator and use a wind speed of 120 MPH / 192 KPH. EricaH 0 #13 November 10, 2003 Thank you... don't really want to know though - I hate wind chill!!! It was more of a statement. I want to jump in snow this year too, but "I hate wind chill". And my reserve is out of date 12/22 - will prob wait till spring or travel to get a re-pack STUPID WINTER!! There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. riddler 0 #14 November 10, 2003 The last two weekends I've been at the DZ, the temperature was reported at 24 below at altitude. I thinking the needle may just be frozen at 24 below Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
