Traveling with my rig

I don't think you will really need anything. It probably wouldn't hurt to bring along this little editorial from the TSA website:

I went out to Perris last week via Dallas and San Diego and didn't have any problems. The agent muttered something about parachutes and parachute knives (forgot about my hook knife)...but they didn't even ask to open the gear bag. I got the idea that they have been educated about parachutes.

Good to have four things, you might never need them, but just in case. Not necessarily Delta's policy, but whatever airline you are flying, USPA has several and will fax to you.

No. In both Wichita and Dallas the TSA Agents recognized the hook knife and apparently it is an approved item because it has an enclosed blade (I overheard some of the conversation between the agents running the X-ray).

Next time I will probably put it in the checked baggage...just to be safe.
