I was about to make a post about NOT pursing skydiving if you weigh way over the limits like myself. Yes, i have 8 jumps in and loved everyone of them. But my saga as alot of you have been following has started to get to me. I want keep skydiving but the hurdles i have had to jump has been wearing me down. To be honest i had thought of giving it up today...but as a last resort i called SKydive San Diego (since they jump alot of military guys there) to see if they had a rig i could use for one jump to keep me current. Well by god..they said come on down and we'll do a coach jump with ya and have no problem with me jumping my rig once i get it done. So long story short...if you stay persistant it will pay off.

You are more than welcome to visit skydivetulsa.com and bring your HALO rig. There are four of us over 6' in the 200+ pound range. WE have several HALO rigs laying around and the DZO owns one that he uses for his big flag on demos.

The only stipulation he has is that if only two of us peg out the weight limit of the 182, that we pick up the third slot. Other than that... no worries. I'll go up with you any time, my exit weight is 265. I think Tony's is about the same. Anthony's - same.

We are an Anvil friendly DZ. Home of the Anvil Brothers!!!!

You guys need to come to Lost Prairie next summer.

We tried to organize the Mad John 2 ton 20 way out of the Otter.. but it seemed that all the ANVILS I had been jumping with all week there last summer would not ADMIT they were eligible for the load. We got only 4 people who actually produced a tickit. And yes.. at 6'1" I was the only woman on the load who qualified:) We have quite a few people up here in the NW who are faily big people. I know of several guys who are tall and have exit weights above 300 lbs. They make for some SMOKIN loads.

Just hang in there and get good gear... and you will have plenty of people who you can jump with. Velocity Sports made my Infinity rig for me and I have never had a problem with it. It is probably one of the largest rigs they have made that is not for student canopies. It is made for a BIG main 230 sq ft and a BIGGER reserve. I like the low wing loadings:)

Interesting. Earlier this year at Skyfest, I organized a Texas Two Ton twenty way. You had to be over 200 pounds. I was last one out. Nearly standing on my head the whole time to get to the formation and just as I was in decelerate mode, they started tracking. Point bering, there's more than just a couple of us.

Sounds like a job for Team Lightspeed, eh?

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

Anvils kickass. I mean - folks can go head down with us whilst we're on our bellies! Ha! Try that - toothpicks of the sky!

Hey, are you discriminating against me now? :P

I was clocked at 157MPH on my belly earlier this season.

Whats awesome is that when I did my first jump with my wife, she was sinking out on me! People NEVER sink out on ME!

I'm not an anvil, that's my wife. I'm a safe.

Don't give up, but also think of this as an excellent opportunity to make some positive life changes, like skydiving, and losing weight.

Keep us updated...

When your AFF instructor says "you fall fast" and your coaches have to curl up into little balls does that make you an "anvil." Naked weight in only about 190 but I guess I am just aerodynamically shaped. ;)

well lets see....on AFF level 6 I averaged 144mph and hit 157 all on my belly. is this fast? oh and my instructor was sitflying!! it was hilarious. What was really kewl was jumping in san diego today. I did a coach jump and the instructor had 12 lbs of lead a tight suit and was still all curled up to hang with me. I tried to tell him i fall fast. lol What was the coolest about the jump....well...everything...got to wear an actual sport rig instead of military (damn those are comfortable, Vector with a 340 main and 360 reserve) actually had a stand up landing too!!! Firs....uh hmm the one before my second stand up landing after nine jumps. Oh and damn near had a cutaway too. Damn canopy had 3 cells inflated and took about 6 seconds for the rest to open, 1/2 second longer and i would have chopped it. what was really cool was even though the canopy looked like a ball of shit above me, i didnt once get nervous...just thought ok this doesnt look good getting about time to go start grabbing these funny handles up here in front. Anyway, i had a kickass skydive and am excited as hell to be jumping close to home, Mississippi is just too far to travel every month.
