I made it through AFF2!

Recommended Posts

Knowing what I needed to improve upon from jump 1. AFF 2 was alot better and seemed to go a little faster I guess that is b/c there was more to do. I was nervous about turning, but it was a piece of cake. The air(or my body) responded good to turning it was like spinning on a bar stool. I really could not tell if I moved alot during forward motion but I had the correct body position. Here is where the fun started. I pulled on time but the PC burbled, the reserve JM punched at it a couple times and I guess I turned a bit too and got air over it but after about what seemed like forever (no more than 5-6 sec) it opened. Had pilot chute over the leading edge but with the 385 Sq ft(mt-1xx?) canopy it didn't even affect it. The wind was pretty good at about 1000ft, so I had to hold the pattern a few times. Landing is really coming together I see that the canopy will do what I tell it to do. BUTT SLIDE landing lol but it was a first. So on to level 3 I think that 3 is gonna be really cool. Finally get to just hover and do some coa and prcp's without being held on to. Wanting to see how stable and still I can hover. Jm said to work on 3 things: 1.look at the otter when you leave the plane. 2.Pay attention to your legs( I like to curl them up and backslide for some reason) 3. remember every time to check for a burble b/c with the broad ness of my back and shoulders I am more likely to have them. I was told to look over my shoulder, and when you tilt your shoulders to look you move air over your back kicking the PC out of it. Not sure if that question was a quiz or a statement showing that you cannot check a burble, but you CAN check to see if your PC is IN the burble lol ;)

You can also avoid this by doing a good through out of your pilot chute;)

Keep your chin up and avoid looking at the ground for a better arch and exit ;)

A VERY common student mistake.;) You'll soon learn to point your toes and straighten your legs;):)
