jumperconway 0 #2 December 22, 2003 If that's an Australian #, I would guess less than 9000, I wouldn't think over 1 million.

An with the USPA they seem to be. But when I look at my phone bill I see my account number is clearly not sequential; it has more "address space" in its string of decimal digits than IPv4 (which has 32 bits). -=-=-=-=- Pull. mikkey 0 #5 December 23, 2003 The first number (8590) is sequential, i.e you are the 8590's person to get A license with the APF. The second number is your APF membership/reference number. Reason being that when you get your B the license number is different, C different again etc. The APF number always stays the same. Hope this explains it.--------------------------------------------------------- When people look like ants - pull. When ants look like people - pray. Eiley 0 #6 December 23, 2003 At a boogie or new DZ you'll be asked for both: your Licence number (A8590) and your APF number (1146374). Your licence number is a quick identifier of your skill level, so the DZSO can tell you what you are permitted to do, where you may land, etc, whilst the APF number is a constant identifier. It used to be that the numbers would identify you geographically (ie all Victorian member numbers started with a '3', NSW with a '2' etc), not sure if this is still the case. Hmmmm.... that didn't clear things up much at all, but I've typed it now, so I'll post it anyway. Cheers, Eiley nothing to see here
skymick 0 #7 December 23, 2003 The A license is sequential and the APF membership number is too I think. The first number (or in your case the first 2) is the state ID (VIC is 3) and i think the 46374 is the total sequential number of APF memberships. Im pretty sure thats right anyway
