BigM 2 #1 January 11, 2004 Does anyone know anything about this? http://www.peapit.com/News/india.html Washington, DC January 1, 2004 Capitol Hill Skydivers let go all manifesters today, becoming the first DZ in the country to implement a self serve kiosk connected to a customer service center in India. Madras Manifesters promises to save any DZ thousands of dollars a year in operating expenses. Jumpers walk up to the kiosk and enter their assigned ID's. The current manifest lineup is displayed, showing load numbers, passengers, and aircraft type. They select their desired load and the kiosk ejects a jump ticket. Credit cards are automatically billed. If the jumpers experience any problems with the machine, they can talk to a Madras Manifesters customer service rep via an audio chat screen. The reps are trained to lose their accents, keep up with American sports teams, and engage in small talk about weather, celebrity news, and financial scandals in order to mask their location. Capitol Hill Skydivers DZO Willy Taxus anticipates saving enough money to make a "contribution" towards legislation favorable to the skydiving industry. "Sure, it's unfortunate that I had to lay off my manifesters, but hey, this isn't The New Deal. I have a business to run." "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

BigM 2 #3 January 11, 2004 Thanks. It sounded funny, but hell, you never know what some people might try.
