ianmdrennan 2 #1 January 16, 2004 My wife and I are new to the Atlanta area and are going to be visiting the different dz's in the area to pick a new home. We thought we'd start at Skydive Atlanta next weekend (24th, 25th). Anything happening down there this time of year? LoudDan 0 #2 January 16, 2004 It's a great place which is definatley more skydivers than tandems. The people are great, and the parties kick ass. The King Air they have is only slightly slower than Mike Mullins, takes about 8 - 9 minutes to altitude (it's in FLA till March, they have a Caravan right now). ASC is a Tandem factory, but there are some awesome skydivers there, especially if your looking for freefly coaching. They have an Otter but are kinda slow during the winter. I've never been to Monroe. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!
Deuce 1 #3 January 16, 2004 At SDA, just park, let the car quiet down, and listen. That's Mouth. Tell her Deuce said hi.
benny 0 #4 January 16, 2004 If you happen to come by ASC in Cedartown, maybe I'll see ya sometime. Good luck and hope you find a good new home. Never go to a DZ strip show.
SkymonkeyONE 4 #5 January 16, 2004 Thomaston is a nice place to skydive, but it's quite far south of ATL. Conversely, ASC is quite far north of ATL. Monroe is slightly Northeast. I just moved to Augusta, so I will be roaming around till I find a place I want to call home. Chuck

Thanatos340 1 #7 January 17, 2004 Dont forget to check out Rome also. About an hour north of Atlanta. Real friendly relaxed DZ. Beautiful Scenery, Great landing area, tons of outs and incredible people.
kelel01 1 #8 January 17, 2004 Ian, Sorry I didn't respond to you earlier. I think you should make the rounds in GA, but start at Skydive Atl. It's a great DZ, but I'm hesitant to say that there's "anything going on this time of year." Keep in mind, we're southerners, and this is cold and uncomfortable for us. In about 2 months, it'll be back to business as usual. Hope to see you! If you decide to come to SDA, let me know, and I'll introduce you to people and show you around! ianmdrennan 2 #9 January 18, 2004 Sorry folks. Just got the bad news that my Mother-In-Laws husband was killed in a car accident last night, because of service arrangements we won't be seeing any of you at Skydive Atlanta this weekend . Blue skies forever Mike.Performance Designs Factory Team
