diverdriver 6 #51 January 20, 2004 Quotewho has been on a plane when the pilot did a little zero g just for the fun of it? Got it for a few seconds in Spain last year and it was scary initially - but fun as hell! Then cameth the DiverDriver: I used to do zero G's in the plane until I hurt someone's neck by putting them in the ceiling. It is not something pilots train for or do regularly. Also, on exit, you can put people dangerously close to the horizontal tail by doing a Zero G exit. It is NOT the proper way to do a raft launch. There have been people who have hit the tail of an otter doing a 0 G exit. Think twice before encouraging your pilot to do one for you.Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

There have been people who have hit the tail of an otter doing a 0 G exit. You Killjoy. Just kidding. I've been in the back of an otter during a zero g raft exit and decided that I never wanted to be in a plane for that again. It would sure be hard to exit the plane after half of the tail is ripped off by a raft. I made them let me out first after that. I suspect that fewer pilots would agree to these exits if they could see how close the raft gets to the tail. ~Cindy~ Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? goose491 0 #53 January 22, 2004 QuoteQuoteHey, isin't there a guy who floats from the very front of a diving empty Otter all the way to the back and out the door? Where did I see that? Somebodies vid. How is that possible?? Can you post the vid? Sounds nuts. I don't have a vid... swear I seen it though... he was the only one in the plane. Well, there could have been a camera man but I assumed the camera was mounted. You can't tell the plane is doing anything because the viewpoint is fixed... you just see a guy sitting on the bench at the front float out of his seat and start 'flying' towards the door. Then, gets 'sucked out' (It just looks that way 'cause as soon as he's out, hes GONE!) You ever hear of the Vomit Comet? A large plane that goes waaaaaaaaaaaaaay up, then the lights flash and it pitches into a dive. They refurbish it and use it to train astronauts to work in a weightless environment... You only get a small moment at a time though. Some of the Apolo 13 movie scenes were shot in the comet. Kevin, I can't see your vid to confirm if that's the one. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! mccordia 74 #54 January 22, 2004 Also check the 'Die Schurken' freefly-team page. They show someone doing a backflip in a (the) skyvan while it's in a zero G-dive, and also has a few guys on the roof (outside) of the skyvan while it dives, and they just get 'left' at altitude while the plane dives away beneath them..cool/sick stuffJC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? bendywendy 0 #56 January 22, 2004 About 4 years ago they had really cool Casa pilots at Lake Wales. If I'd done enough jumps, I would go in the jump seat. We'd throw out the jumpers, close the tailgate and the copilot and I would throw ourselves all over the back of the plane while the pilot pulled multiple 0 g's on descent. Ahhh!!! the good old days...

rocketdog 0 #58 January 25, 2004 this past summer our pilot got into a Zero G kick & began doing it @ least once a weekend.... .... by the end of the season we had jumpers doing flips/cartwheels/all kinds of acrobatics during the weightlessness (gotta love Roger Pilot!) see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com
