dsbbreck 0 #1 January 29, 2004 Here's a question for all DZ staff. You might not want to actually answer this one on this forum but feel free to send me a PM. I swear I'm not with the IRS. Does your dropzone report everything you make. Example: they do or don't claim what you jump off your account. Do they report what you make and then you have to pay a packer with that reported income. Which means the packer doesn't have to claim it. Thanks,David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."
SkymonkeyONE 4 #2 January 29, 2004 I used to manage a school that did it by the book, so I got taxed and recieve a 1099. That said, anything I paid out of my pocket in order to operate is getting written off. Our packers got paid the same way. There was not any "cash" packing going on at our school. harryskydives 0 #3 January 29, 2004 At the DZ where I do tandems, coach ect. We get paid directly by the student. The student gives us a ticket, (envelope with the money in it). Then i pay my packer directly. I just write this on the envelope. Ie T-1 12-06-03 $34 paid Packer $9. If i pay a single packer $600 per year I have to 1099 them. I spread the packing around. Then I just total this up for my tax preparer. Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...
