mplinny 0 #1 February 9, 2004 I went through aff 2 years ago and unfortunatly wasn't able to keep up on my status due to deployments in the military. I am currently in Iraq but I want to pick up where I left off really badly. does anyone know what I'm going to have to do to get my license? Also I'm looking to buy a rig. Any suggestions for a new jumper that weighs 170 about sizes of mians and manufacturers. thanks, blue skies!
goose491 0 #2 February 9, 2004 Hi, I assume from your post that you will be coming home shortly? Glad to hear you are Talk to a local dropzone when you do. Will it be the same one you did AFF at? You may be able to do some sort of currency jump with an instructor to save yourself having to go through the whole thing again... of course, the decision will be made by the DZO. As far as buying a rig? You'll want to wait until you know what will be expected of you. Then, you'll want to discuss what type of gear would be best suitable for you. Great ressources for used gear are the classifieds right here on DZ.com and the classifieds at Enclave.com Blues, Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! flyangel2 2 #3 February 9, 2004 Do you still have your log book? Where are you planning on doing the AFF jumps, same DZ as before? How many jumps after AFF did you do? Did you pass all your AFF levels without any repeats? Need just a tad more information in order to answer your question.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 February 10, 2004 Anticipate a full ground refresher and at least a Cat C (C1 or C2 depending on how well your instructors "feel". After that, it's possible that you might be released straight to cat F. It all depends on what type of program your dropzone runs. Some will tell you that you are hosed and that you will have to repeat the entire program; most will not. At my last dropzone, I would advance a person as fast as he or she was capable of doing so withing the guidelines of USPA doctrine.
