I guess they were too busy trying to match the picture on the card that CYPRESS now gives new owners that shows an x-ray pick of a rig to the video of my rig. Nobody gave me nore than a second look. Hmm, so much for security. I remember when I could take my 4" folding knife on board....I swear this place is turning into a police state.. Gee, I got an idea....let's give up all our liberties in exchange for government security...no thanks I'll just carry a couple extra mags for my battle rifle, thank you Mr. govt agent. So, all you'll get is when they're having a bad day, they're going to go out of their way to take it out on you. (oh, the last time I flew, in 1998, I had my 3" fully serrated combat folder in my pocket. The security guy at the metal detector actually said "nice knife" as he handed it back to me when I walked through).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." After x-raying it they pulled it aside to inspect the bag, feeling all around the rig, I offered to take it out when he came up with my Jack Knife hook knife. They gave me the choice of throwing it away or mailing it to myself, so I looked at the knife and asked "Do you have a phillips screw driver? Why can't we remove the blade, you keep the blade and I keep the knife?" I don't think it should be any big deal but some of those guys are dicks. Who would be dumb enough to try and hijack a plane after Sept. 11 anyway? rjf98 0 #9 January 14, 2004 I would prefer double action pistols because they are simpler and less likely to accidently be fired, but I agree with your solution. Fact is, that if that were the case on Sept 11th we wouldn't have had more than one plane crash into the towers if even that one. Sure a few innocents on the plane would have died, but they could be counted as heros, and not like the poor souls who simply died in the towers without having a chance to fight back.
