Is your S&TA's word good enough for most DZ's?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting ready do hit Eloy and a few other DZ's over spring break. I have one concern though, I never actually got around to getting any liscenses. Back when a "C" was still 100 freefalls, I acheived all the requirements then took and passed the test. My S&TA signed off in my logbook that I met or exceed the "C" liscense requirements. Do you think that would be good enough?

from my experiance... eloy is very by the book... no liscence no jumpy.... but then again you should have your "a" lisc card and that will work just fine....... if you started jumping like i did before they had them well i'd get your s&ta to fill one out for ya before ya go....

Since you haven't gotten around to get ANY licenses. You probably will have hard time. you might have to jump with a coach.

Or have your S&TA send in your stuff to the USPA and expedite it with the fax confirmation. That should be good enough if you have your #. The DZ can verify it with the USPA

I know people that have jumped at Eloy without having a USPA license or even belonging to USPA. I understand that they require to register with a local membership - something like $15 - and they will review your qualifications. You don't need to be in USPA to jump at many dropzones, but it helps.

I should point out that this is hearsay - I've always had a license when jumping at Eloy, so I never had to deal with it.

Just another reason to have all your ducks in a row and get your license.

Think ahead, and not wait till the last minute. I suggest calling out to Eloy and see what they want you to do.
