pccoder 0 #1 February 22, 2004 Anyone interested in getting a skydive tag for their car in Florida? I did some research late last year and remember it was pretty costly (for an individual) and then you had to put together a petition with like 15,000 people's signatures on it saying they would be interested in purchasing the tag if it were made. However, I was just curious if this idea has ever come up in here and if anyone has ever tried to do this? PcCoder.net
Stacy 0 #2 February 22, 2004 HOnestly, I wouldn't. Same reasons I wouldn't get a scuba tag. It kinda screams "ooh ooh! this car could have expensive sporting equipment in it." I know lots of people who won't go for the tags for that reason. No one needs to know there is $5K of sporting equipment in my trunk... __

sdgregory 0 #5 February 22, 2004 Yeah, I have my NRA stickers on my car but not my USPA. Of course the gun rack in the rear dash of my Corsica might be a deterrent . "keep honking, I'm reloading"

pccoder 0 #7 February 22, 2004 That seems like a really sad reason. I've found that people who don't jump have no clue what it costs. In fact yesterday I was talking to a non-jumper about it and he said, "What does the gear cost? $300?" I wanted to laungh. PcCoder.net

One case where some idiots' misconceptions of the NRA can be used to a member's favor. I've heard the opposite at least regarding police insignia, 'cause there's more likely to be a gun inside to steal. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Kennedy 0 #10 February 23, 2004 Actually, some cops [that i have lost all respect for] are the only people I know who are _ _ _ _ing dumb enough to leave guns in their cars. I've never met a gun owner who does that. The cops who do that are the ones who looks at their sidearm as a nuisance required by the job, not as a tool to be taken care of. In my experience, they are the ones who treat their pistol no better than their handcuffs.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

There are some groups that would see Skydiving as part of the rich history of FL and the diverse population of FL and may support it. Ron 10 #15 February 23, 2004 QuoteWho says it has to be jumpers? There are some groups that would see Skydiving as part of the rich history of FL and the diverse population of FL and may support it. Not real likey, but possible Well you are correct, there are folks drivinga round with Challenger license plates that didn't ever ride the shuttle...But most plates are from things people do. I would venture to say that not even all the jumpers in FL. would get one...(I would not, Stacey said she would not)....And I REALLY doubt that there would be enough people to want one that don't jump. I live in Zhills....some of the folks there don't know that there is a DZ on the Airport....More have never been there, and even more don't care. When you just look at the numbers...There are not enough jumpers in FL to make it happen. and if there are not enough in FL....Well chances are there are not enough in ANY state."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,

pccoder 0 #18 February 24, 2004 Yes, I have already done this in the past. And, I have considered doing this again to express my passion for skydiving, maybe I'll do it. PcCoder.net
