Newbie 0 #1 April 4, 2004 does anyone have any materials (ideally videos) where i can study different tracking positions? I've watched some base vids which are good, but generally they track for only a short while before pull time. I like the Loic base stuff in Crosswind which is good, but i would like to see more skydiving tracking, both max tracks for separation and tracking dives so i can look at body positions. Thanks for any recommends "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
TomAiello 26 #3 April 4, 2004 Check out Track or Die on Offheading.com. There also used to be an insane track (something approaching 45 degrees from exit to landing) on AtleDahl.com, but I'm not sure where it's gone to.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

ChasingBlueSky 0 #7 April 4, 2004 Tom - I'm getting errors trying to download it, but will keep trying. Is it the clips of the guy tracking over a set of cliffs set up like huge stairsteps? It mentions ESPEN - is that the same guy that used to live in Iowa and was a rec.sky PW?_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... MarkM 0 #9 April 5, 2004 Check out http://www.cajunchickens.com/files/2003yearend.wmv and at about 4:20 into the video you'll see a really nice track done by (I think) PhreeZone. I basically used that body position as a guideline for when I was practicing tracking after AFF. I hope it was correct, because that's how I track now
 scottjaco 0 #10 April 5, 2004 Ever watch a big way formations with 50+ people? The break off at the end involves some pretty insane tracking! That track he pulled is nice to watch on video, but it was amazing to see from the air. I, too, stole part of the technique for my track. At 5'8", 235# I've gotten down to 98mph in my track these days. Not bad considering my normal arched belly speed is in the low 140's. Which is why I don't arch anymore. And good on you for looking at other techniques and trying them out!! I'd get video of big-ways; you want breakoffs. You'll see a lot of very good tracking, especially in the outer rows.
