RAM parachute mission

Recommended Posts

Has anyone heard more about the remote area medical mission? There was an article in Parachutists a couple months ago that stated they were looking for experienced skydivers for a mission to Guyana to repair an airstrip for medical evacuations. Since I've read that I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I think I might have to look into this and possibly go! I can't imagine skydiving into the Amazon, an experience not forgotten I'm sure! Plus the chance to do something so meaningful. Anyone else considering this?

Does sound pretty exciting, huh? I actually contacted the email address at the end of the article about a month ago and was told their crews are currently full for the Guyana mission. It sounded like they may have some more upcoming stuff though. I wasn't given any specifics but did register with them to be notified if/when something was going on.

Rene has been called to Baghdad, and I have been asked to be leader of this mission. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me ... please send them to
wendy@ramairborne.com
and I will answer them as quickly as I can!
This mission has all the volunteers it currently needs, but RAM is always looking for more volunteers for other missions, though mainly medical. If you have any type of medical license and would like to volunteer please visit the site
www.ramusa.org
and download and fill out the volunteer form.
Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to hearing from you!
