ematteo 0 #2 April 14, 2004 Hi Nick, Johnny Luv was a fantastic human being, and is deeply missed. Several of the Nor. Cal. folks he used to jump with will be in Perris this weekend for a freefly tunnel camp. Come on by Saturday (we'll all be there for orientation at 8am) or Sunday and say hello. In the meantime, here are a couple links: http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/norcal_skydiving/message/478 http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/norcal_skydiving/message/913 Best, Evan

hookitt 1 #4 April 14, 2004 Yes I knew him. We flew together many times and were trading parachute rigging tricks together for a while at the airforce base. I can put you in touch with his best friend Chris. He would have pictures and such. Look above where it says messages. You'll see a red number, click on that and send me your contact information. Johnny was a Jewel. He was a big man with a kind heart. He became a very good skydiver. He was so big and so graceful in the air. I'll send you a PM (private message) Oh..I just read your latest post. I was at the sushi place this afternoon that makes the now famous "Johnny Luv" rollMy grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... diverdriver 7 #7 April 14, 2004 You uncle was a great guy. So many people can attest to this. I miss his presence on this earth dearly. I enjoyed flying Johnny Luv during my time out at SMB. I remember him leaving for Turkey and being sad that he and his cohorts would not be around for awhile. I knew he was doing his duty and supporting our operations in the No-Fly Zone of Iraq. He did it willingly and I worried for his safe return. It's hard to find people with such a huge heart. When he returned I was very happy as his presence always made the DZ brighter. Last time I saw him was at the Nationals in Eloy 2001. We hadn't seen each other in a couple of years but it was like we hadn't had any time apart. We laughed about bad military spotting and reminised about days at SMB. Man do I wish he was still around. Good people like that are so sorely needed in this world. If you're ever visiting Skydive Chicago try to catch me. Would like to meet you.Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

vdschoor 0 #9 April 15, 2004 Actually, I am jumping one of Johnny's rigs! Fun to hear you're in the sport now as well, if you're ever in the Bay Area and want to make a couple jumps, come out to Byron and if you're experienced enough to fly a Sabre2 150, you can jump your uncle's rig.. anytime. I attached a picture of me wearing his rig, screaming across the skies in Byron Iwan
NoShitThereIWas 0 #10 April 15, 2004 "Head Down, Don't frown." Johnny was the man. I can still recall the hilarious laughter of one evening in particular when he, Sammy, Glen, Allie and I decided to go to Big Sur on an "adventure". Trying to sneak into the hot springs was only one part of that night I will never forget. I'll never forget his smile, his laugh or his hugs. He was a real hero.Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
