goose491 0 #26 April 16, 2004 I hafe life/accidental death and dismemberment through my work... I made a point to mention several times that I skydive and was told it's not an issue and that if I go (gulp) whilst skidiving, there is not advers affect on my policy. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! goose491 0 #27 April 16, 2004 QuoteI have no dependants so if i do go i'm not too worried. Is that the wrong attitude to have? Not necessarily a bad attitude... however, you may want to consider the fact that life insurance premiums get 'locked'. That is to say, if you start a life insurance policy in your healthy twenties, you'll be paying the same small monthly premium for many years to come... the longer you wait, the older you get, the more expensive that monthly premium is bound to be. You may not think you have dependants... but would you be leaving bills behind if you went? Somebody has to take care of 'em... just something to consider. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! sdgregory 0 #29 April 17, 2004 I have life insurance through Primerica and it is more like death insurance. I die, my family gets paid. Period. When we first got the policy I went over it with them with a fine tooth comb. I fell down a well and break my neck - double indemnity I get run over by a train playing chicken - double indemnity My wife poison's me - double indemnity (but she gets none of it, my Mom does and the kids go to her too.) that's just for you freaks who think you might talk my wife into a cut I off myself with a Revolutionary War cannon to the testicles - double indemnity I burn in skydiving - double indemnity Die of natural causes (heart-attack, disease, cancer) - face value of policy. Bought the policy back when I was 20 and a serious smoker. Wife on the policy too. 250K in coverage - 54 per/month. Have not been smoking for years and should call them to get my rates lowered but keep forgetting. Shoudl take care of that while I am thinking about it. skybytch 273 #31 April 17, 2004 QuoteShe isn't even a skydiver. Read her other posts... Now now. We all should know by now that one tandem does make a person a skydiver. Just because they didn't pull or flare anything doesn't mean they aren't as "extreme" as those of us who've saved our own asses repeatedly are.
