linestretch 0 #1 May 3, 2004 Just curious as to who has dealt with this issue. How long after the snippings was it until you jumped, and did you have any issues.my pics & stuff!
b1jercat 0 #2 May 3, 2004 Jeff, I don't know any skydivers that have had it done, but you can easily simulate the results, next time you jump just stick a grapefruit in your shorts. blue skies jerry

Had the vas done on a Friday morning, went jumping Sunday. Kind of like mildly straining a groin muscle, no real pain, you just don't feel like breaking into a run for a few days. darkwing 5 #5 May 3, 2004 My estimate is that I would have been comfortable jumping in a couple of weeks. I wasn't jumping at the time so I can only estimate. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
Nutz 0 #6 May 3, 2004 I'm with him, it was about 15 years afterward, no pain. "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"
Dumpster 0 #7 May 3, 2004 I too got mine done long before I started jumping, but I was back up to speed in about 2 weeks, and cleared to start lifting again in about 4 weeks. ( I was in the Air Force at the time and had to get clearance from the flight surgeon.) That was about 12 years ago - No problems since. DanglesOZQld 0 #10 May 3, 2004 Just had a friend who had the procedure, he is going to jump again in one week after the op doing camera and see how it goes. (He does everything tm / Cm / AFF etc). He was told by his doctor who did the procedure that 14 days is the usual but this dude skydives and most would know skydivers are NOT the usual patients! BSBD! -Mark. Example - I had three Wisdom teeth out tuesday and did three jumps camera on the next day. Funny how nice that Piri Raptor helmet feels around your jaw the day after!!!!!!!!!!!!! bodypilot1 0 #11 May 3, 2004 I had it done on a friday and was jumping again the following weekend. But the only reason was because we were in training for the Nationals. Though dont forget not everyone heals the same. I had a friend just simply jump off a work bench (about 18" from sitting to the floor) and the next day his nuts were the size of grapefruits! Dont take any chances and take some time off and heal the right way. SLOWLY. Or your nuts will pay you back for it!www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
JohnMitchell 16 #12 May 3, 2004 Had it done on Monday, was jumping by Saturday, but not doing Tandems until the next weekend. Just didn't want a 200 pound moose on me quite that soon. And remember, Vasectomy . . . means never having to say you're sorry.
rickjump1 0 #13 May 3, 2004 Don't rush it. I wasn't jumping; just walking out on a flightline. Wish I had waited. Man, it hurt.Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

firstime 0 #15 May 4, 2004 I got it done years ago and the doctor told me to stay in the prone position for 24 hrs...no exception. I felt great 4 hours after and decided to mow the lawn. well I NEVER thought my speed bag could get as big as grapefruit and so I called the doctor he said" the 1st 24 hrs are critical so now suffer" So in response to your ? dont do anything for 24 hrs. That is the threashold. Good luck Brother
