skyyhi 0 #2 May 7, 2004 Hey there Anniken. . . I understand that the fires were burning on the hills between Perris and Elsinore. I know that people were jumping on tuesday. I was sent a cool pick of the fire from Perris with the wind tunnel in the foreground but it is at work. I will upload it when I get in. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
sunnydee123 0 #3 May 7, 2004 The last jump I made before leaving Perris on Sunday I noticed fire on the hill. Got home and saw the news. Hope everyone is hanging touch and keeping things "wet" Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
rkillian 0 #4 May 7, 2004 Hi Anniken. On Sunday afternoon we got shut down by CDF (California Department of Fire) because we were within 3 miles of a fire, but by Monday that fire had retreated to the other side of the hill. (Of course on Sunday night you could see the flames from the dropzone.) There was another fire up in Corona that made it's way all the way to the 15, but that fire was plenty far from the dropzone. It did make for an awful commute to LA though as the 15 was closed for a while. We were never in any real danger as the closest fire was the Elsinore fire which, while less than 3 miles away, remained on the other side of the 15. Come visit us again soon!!! Shark 0 #5 May 7, 2004 Hi Anniken! We are doing well! It's been really hot, too. The fires really haven't affected us, but we still are on edge from January's disaster. Still kinda busy with lotsa work. Come back soon! We miss you in yoga. Vi sees, Mark

On Monday we were at the tunnel and the smoke was really dramatic. Massive towers of smoke covering the sun and most of the sky.

Has Hammo opened his bottle shop yet? Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...
