do you check the track corridor before a tracking dive?

What?

If you're suggesting that you should visualy check the airspace before jumping, that is absolutly true no matter what kind of jump you are doing.

HINT: Most yahoos at the door just look out the door for a sec. Go ahead and look UNDER the aircraft so you can see if there is any trafic coming from your "blind" side.

nah i alwasy give a good check when im approaching/in the door for traffic below and to the sides.

Im talking about when doing a tracking dive specifically - if people check 2-3 miles in the track direction for traffic/clouds, all the way down to what they imagine will be breakoff altitude.

I think it's the spotters job. If you have an otter load full of people and every single person takes the time to stick their head out the door, look down, around, forwards, backwards, underneath.. well you can pretty much guarantee that some folks will be landing out, or you'll be forced to do a few jump runs.
