flyhy 0 #1 May 27, 2004 I'm selling my rig but I don't know how much I should ask for. It's a - Vector 3 , DOM 2001, 150 jumps, leather hackey, kill line, stainless steel, no velcro, etc., nice colors!! - 170 Sabre , DOM '94, approx. 550 jumps, relined 33 jumps ago!, nice colors! - Tempo 170 reserve, DOM '97 I thought about $3000... does that sound alright? I've never sold a rig before so maybe I'm totally wrong??
thelem 0 #2 May 27, 2004 That sounds high to me. Does it have a cypres? How many jumps does the reserve have? Oh, and to answer your question: your rig is worth as much as you can sell it for.
Jimbo 0 #3 May 27, 2004 No AAD? I'm thinking closer to $2200/$2500 - 3K, in my opinion, is a little on the high side. On the other hand, like everything else on the auction block, it's worth exactly as much as you can get for it. Good luck. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. flyhy 0 #5 May 27, 2004 Yea, it used to have a cypres but it only had 2 years lifetime left and I sold it to my mate who needs it. Kinda tricky, was gonna sell it for 5000 NZD which is about 3000 USD at the moment .. I thought a vector 3 with low jumps and relined canopy would put the value up..? skybytch 273 #7 May 27, 2004 I'd put that rig around US$2200 - reserve $500-ish, main $750-ish, container $950-ish. If the main were a Sabre2 and the reserve a PD it might be worth closer to $3000 total. The original Sabre isn't worth as much used as a Sabre2 is - relined or not, regardless of jump numbers. The Tempo reserve was about US$600 new.
mr2mk1g 10 #8 May 27, 2004 Everyone's forgetting you live in NZ not the USA. If the seccond hand gear market over there is anything like it is in England (tiny with a huge demand for 170-190 size canopies) then you can pretty much get what you want for it. In England what you list can easily fetch upwards of £1500 - that's going on $3000. The US gear market is always significantly cheaper than anywhere else as it is much bigger. Hell, try for $3000 and if you don't get it then drop your price
