ChrisL 2 #1 June 13, 2004 How many seconds of freefall do tandems get at your dropzone?__ My mighty steed
ChrisL 2 #2 June 13, 2004 OK, you that voted 70 second, that seems bit unrealistic isnt it? Unless you are jumping fro 14,500 and opening at around 2500 feet? I dont know any dropzones that open that low for tandems. Please explain.__ My mighty steed
NightJumper 0 #3 June 13, 2004 QuotePlease explain. I believe that Space Coast offers tandems from 18,000' and there is another DZ that offers tandems from 30,000'.

ChrisL 2 #5 June 14, 2004 Not me bro I was looking at a website for a dropzone that was claiming that their tandems got 70 seconds of freefall. Seemed like a silly claim to me since they are a Cessna dropzone and dont currently fly any higher than 12,000 ft. or so If their tandem exited at 12,000 ft and did a good 70 seconds of freefall where would that put them? 6 feet under I'd say I figure it had to be a typo just because the claim is so silly. Thought I'd put the question out there though just out of curiosity.__ My mighty steed
PhreeZone 20 #6 June 14, 2004 ~10 seconds for the first 1000 feet ~6 seconds for each 1000 feet after that. 12000 feet with a 70 second delay is about 1000 feet at opening.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
ChrisL 2 #7 June 14, 2004 Wouldnt pulling at 1000 ft put you at or below ground level when the caopy has fully inflated? Dem tandems dont stop on a dime. I was figuring that 6 feet under thing was fairly literal __ My mighty steed
Andrewwhyte 1 #8 June 15, 2004 I log 35 seconds for a Cessna (10 000) jump and 50 seconds for a King Air jump (12 500). Can't say I've ever timed the video. I do know that riggerrob falls a lot faster with the fat guy than I do with his cute wife.
tspillers 0 #9 June 16, 2004 I have used a Pro track and now Neptune to get times and I get anywhere from the 30's (182 below 10) to low 60's (13 or 14+ from twin turbine). Todd I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
