diverdriver 7 #1 June 17, 2004 The update has finally been done (since I got off my duff and sent it to Christy to put on the website). 2003 was finished off with 10 reports. We all know the economy decreased many operations across the US so I attribute the lower number of reports with fewer flying hours. If you think I have missed anything send me a PM. It may be the incident you are thinking of did not meet the level of "accident" defined by the NTSB. weegegirl 2 #2 June 17, 2004 damn, chris. you scared me with that post title. once again... great site.
 diverdriver 7 #3 June 17, 2004 Sorry for scarrying you. I would also suggest people read the section of NASA Safety Reports. These are usually near misses reported by other planes passing through our DZs. Keep a watch out. I read some of these and see that the pilot is uninjured, but the plane impacted after an "uncontrolled descent". The explanation in the 2003 Texas Porter crash is that the pilot got out and the plane impacted without him, but the preliminary doesn't mention that. I don't know whether the minor and major injuries in the spin/crash with skydivers aboard (and the police officer videotaping) were sustained by jumpers who left or jumpers who stayed, or what. Just asking because guesstimating survivability should take into account whether the occupant(s) crashed with the plane. -=-=-=-=- Pull. BTW, thanks for a site for the pilots. I refer diverdrivers to your site regularly. Especially, the one who recently said, "If I ever lose an engine on takeoff, I'm just going to do a 180 and land back at the runway." No shit. Ya ever just want to bitch slap someone in advance of them hurting themselves or others?
 diverdriver 7 #8 June 18, 2004 QuoteNo shit. Ya ever just want to bitch slap someone in advance of them hurting themselves or others? All the time. But then, I might not get their attention. I hope the website and a focussed way of training will educate these pilots. It's not their fault they are low time. It's our fault for not making sure they have proper training and supervision.Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
 diverdriver 7 #9 June 18, 2004 Links are working again.Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
 Beerlight 0 #10 June 19, 2004 Chris, Thanks for keeping us updated.
