skymedic 0 #1 July 12, 2004 Well I had my second cutaway today. Dumped at about 3000 or so, got lazy, dropped a shoulder is my best guess and found out the joy of what they call a spinetto. I was on my back in a flash, with a diving spun up main canopy and my ditter yelling at me. all good fun. I did what any sane person would do. I cut that crap away. perfectly nice open Dash-M 218 over my head. on heading no line twists and WITH an RSL. under a good canopy about 1000ft.Nice stand up landing with lots of flare in the beans. thing flew grate for me. it's not overloaded...maybe that's the key to good landings on the Dash-m's and ravens.YMMV. I'm glad I do very regular mainenance on my cutaway system. I had line twists below the slider down to the risers and had a very easy cutaway. proof that paying good attention to your gear will save your ass in a pinch. this was my first cutaway that was a FAST one...it had to get done now...and I did it with out panic with out fear and smoothly. like it was all slow motion...even though it definately was not. thank's to Jason Mark for the save...now I gots to go buy da good stuff for him. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
