teason 0 #26 July 14, 2004 QuoteGet your pilot to go slow... shimmy out on the strut and try and get your legs up past the relative wind and do it from the wing Had a pilot negative g me up for a toe hang once. Not a good idea from 3000' grand, you lose to much altitude. Released low, had a funky opening. Was in the middle of peeling velcro when it decided to fly straight with line twists up the ying yang! In the saddle at 1250' . I never let the pilot compensate for my poor technique again!I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. Jskydiver22 0 #29 July 19, 2004 We have two 182's and one 206. I prefer to go out on the step, look back at the pilot and leave in a track position. Looks good if there is video and the pilots always like it --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
Douva 0 #30 July 19, 2004 If your DZ does hop 'n pops without throttling the engine back, you need to take into consideration the aircraft you're jumping out of and whether it has a high or low rear stabilizer. On some aircraft, particularly small, fast aircraft like King Airs, it is possible to hit the rear stabilizer if exiting poised at cruising speed. --DouvaI don't have an M.D. or a law degree. turtlespeed 226 #31 July 20, 2004 Cessna - Poised - kinda - take right arm and train in your burble while on the step. Bring right arm in very quicklyin a long arc - hence giving momentum - let go of the strut and help your arm spin you around - straiten your legs out as tight as you can and hold your arms in as tight as you can - OK - so it's not the most "Stable" body position - but hey after 8 or 10 turns - go to box - and dump. No worries - and it is a hellopva lot of fun, exspecially if there is a Tandem just behind you and they are watching you - or (prefferably) they have video.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
