LGreg34 0 #1 February 6, 2004 Many thanks to all that gave me info on Jumping in Playa Del Carmen. I did a tandem there since I only had 13 jumps to my credit and don't have a license yet. It was GREAT! It was the smallest plane I've ever jumped from, a C-182. I've jumped from Hueys and Caravans, so the exit was different than I've experienced, and we had a bit of a slow opening. It took about 8 seconds. I looked up and the slider wasn't coming down; I thought, oh shit, this might be my first cut away (my own paranoia)! Victor, my tandem guy, pumped the brakes a few times and it did come downTried to post some pictures. Everytime I've tried on here, for an icon or pictures, it says the file is too big.......sorry. Oh, Michel still does own the shop. Victor invited me to join the crew the next evening at the Blue Parrot. I had the opportunity to meet him. Very nice man, and pretty cute too. Had a great time! el_chester 4 #2 February 6, 2004 Glad to hear you overcame your fear of "the mexican thing" LOL... This week there was a boogie at Ixtapa and... I couln't go :( Anyway, the jumps in Cuautla with the snow-covered vulcanoes in the background are amazing. Good luck with whatever is left of your AFF course Chester -- Be careful giving advice. SlyFox 0 #3 February 17, 2004 Glad to hear you had a good jump. I would like to a jump sometime near the beach. All the videos and pictures I've seen by the coast are awesome. I will have to take a trip near the coast. I know the feeling of the C-182, most of my sport jumps are out of one, I like the bigger birds. Congratulation on the part time job, anything to help get another jump and learn more about the sport. I'm looking at getting rig in the next few weeks. I considering on getting the one I learned on, Sabre 230. I have enjoyed jumping it so far. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****
SlyFox 0 #4 February 17, 2004 If your photos are too big try saving them as a jpeg/jpg. If they are saved as a bmp the files are usually pretty big. Also if you have a photo program you can also down size the photos. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Chrisky 2 #5 February 17, 2004 Awesome Pictures!! Flew over the DZ once in a small student C-182 as a passenger with my cousin on his refreshing flight hour he needed to take, and was really sad that i couldn't stop by. Looked like a really nice place to jump. What planes do they operate? Is that the DZs Otter on the photo? The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...
