riggerrob 643 #4 August 7, 2004 Please tell us more about your DZ near Bangalore. How many static-line students do you drop each year? How many tandems? etc. I find it curious that you are operating the only DZ in India. In comparison, we have large Hindu and Sikh communities near Vancouver, but few of them skydive. Out typical Hindu student is a young woman who tries a tandem jump to assert her independence or defy her parents. We only have one Sikh who is a licensed skydiver at Pitt Meadows. Maybe it is an immigrant, nose to the grind stone mentality ....
indradhanush 0 #5 August 7, 2004 this year i had 22 student and we did 250 jumps. one day we did 20 loads with Cessna-180 and i did only one jump sunset load. i did 15 tandems as well. i would like to see indian team in comptition. right now they go for CISM championships attended only by military. i was with military before i quit and opened up the first dropzone. u can get some idea about aour compnay www.agniaviation.net it is the same comany which is having cessna and islander. if my cessna is not serviceable then wetake our big machine with only one student. i am having one student one tandem and one rig vector-III with sabre-107 for me. u can mail me at hanuman_skydiving@yahoo.comlife is a daring adventure or nothing at all
Adriandavies 0 #6 August 9, 2004 I jump at Langar which is in the Midlands of the UK. Its close to Leicester which has about 40% Asian population, but despite that very few Asians of any ethnic origin (broadly speaking around here by Asian I mean Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi or Sri Lankan) jump. A steady stream come along for tandems, but even these numbers don't reflect the actual make up of the local catchment area. Its the same with black skydivers, as again there are very few. Its a shame really for skydiving but it is not unusual as this trend it is reflected in most sports and pastimes except maybe cricket.

Adriandavies 0 #8 August 9, 2004 Swifty and Al are two amazing skydivers who just prove that serious problems don't have to get in the way of skydiving. Thanks for the info about the Iranians in Germany. One day I'll find a way of getting some skydives in there when I visit.

PhreeZone 20 #17 August 11, 2004 Yep, its Eric from SGC. There is a large group of Indian military jumpers out here at WFFC this year. I've seen 4-5 of their canopies in the air at the same time already. They look like the Indian flag, large F111 style canopies.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
