bbarnhouse 0 #1 September 4, 2004 This is just and FYI for those who are unaware of the change. The selection for both the World Cup 2005 (Eloy, AZ USA) and World Championships (Gera,Germany) for US Teams will come from the US National Championships 2005 in Perris Valley, CA Most teams that have trained this year (2004) thought that they were vying (top 3 ) for invitations to the World Cup 2005, and (top 3) teams competing in 2005 US Nationals would be eligable for the World Championships 2006. What that means is, this years U.S. Nationals is a non-qualifyer meetfor US Team selection.
YellowDog 0 #3 September 7, 2004 So...Just to get this straight...The teams that win in 2005 will have only a couple weeks to prepare for the World Cup? 2003 results will not be used for invitations? Are any of these official announcements available yet on a website somewhere? (Like FAI?) BTW: About your signature "I'm 10 minutes from normal...Does that make me nearly normal?"... Last year was a change...Normally it is every other year that the world meet team is selected. The IPC changed the venue so last year was also an "on" year. Last time I checked a World Cup the USPA can approve I think up to 3 teams to represent the US. You don't have to win anything. The World Cup and Championships are different. World Champs is from the top 3. World cup can be up to 5 teams and that it decided by the organizing committe. 2005 will invite the top 3 teams from Nationals. According to the rules SCM 11-1.4 Lawrence..I don't know why. Bryce 2003 Nationals was selction year for World Championships 2004...and thanks for the honorary membership
