400 Way... it's gonna happen sooner or later.

Yes....it will probably be somewhere other then the US...due to the lack of C130's available for civilian use here.

Im sure someone has a bit more info then me...but i do know they are scouting for the next "World Team"

Thailand is an expensive trip from North America. It would be unfortunate if alot of capable and deserving people couldn't pony up the coin to make it there again.

Side note: How many people on the World Team '04 record were on the 300 way?

The Thailand trip cost from the U.S. was less than the 300 way Eloy one, including everything, and was twice as long. Even if you were local to Eloy (no flight, car or hotel), the cost was about the same, after taking meals into account.

Don't know, but you could go cross-correlate the rosters at the web sites, and tell us! My offhand guess would be maybe 240.

What do you propose? Think about the capable and deserving people from other than North America that have to travel as well; it is the World Team. More than the 'coin', it's the amount of time necessary as well. There were capable and deserving people that could not join us in 2004, and there will be more that cannot in 2006, independent of location.

I spent 2 weeks in Thailand around the same time as the '04 World Team, spent about $1100 on a tour throughout the country that included airfares, guides, and nice hotels. While the trip there is a pretty painful haul, it's a rather cheap place to go for an event like this.

Personally I think if you're going to make a trek to do a big event, it's even more fun to do it somewhere new and exciting.

My entire trip to Thailand for three weeks cost me less than the registration fee for the 300-way in Eloy. Mind you, I used my airmiles for the flight, but it sounds like many people did the same thing. Still, even without the airmiles, it was less expensive and had such an incredible "holiday" feel.

A 400-way would be no problem (skydiving-wise). Add one more C-130 to the left trail (5 in total) The 357 was held for a long time and, but for one...shall we say "confused" person, would've been held even longer. Plenty of time to pop a person on the end of each wacker!

There's also the problem of finding the time. I know quite a few people that had the $$$ but couldn't take the time off needed.

The bigger it gets the more skydivers they have to recruit. When it gets to several thousand I might be able to get on it!

One problem I see looming on the horizon is O2. The record is coming close to the limit with out some form of bail out O2 being available for the jumpers. I understand that in Thailand they made several trips to 23,000 MSL. The is close to if not in the area where a persons capabilities, both mental and physical, start to go down hill fast.

The big the formation gets the higher the break off has to be and the higher the exit must be and the higher the break off must...............:P And the effects of even mild hypoxia are accumulative. It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Sparky ............. Look for maybe 500?:S
