MWGemini 0 #27 October 8, 2004 I know that I'm far from experienced, but it seems as though President makes SkyHighKiy look like a conservative genius when it comes to skydiving and life in general. If im out of place saying this, please read his post on " why tandem before AFF?" before you flame me for my opinion.
 dtpilot 0 #39 October 10, 2004 Hey everyone... President, I like your way of thinking. I have been a pilot for 2 years and hold my private pilots license and working on the instrument and commercial. I love flying and became curious with skydiving. Thought that every good pilot should learn how to really fly before making a career out of it, meaning flying your body. Anyways I too have a friend that owns a plane and one of these days we were going to take the doors off and fly above his grass strip out in hick country and do a little jumping. Sound like fun and all but we are still working out the details. Pros...it is cheap, if fly good with the doors off and have good aim when droping stuff from the air so I can fly a good flight path...may be more pros but the cons are more important. Cons...medical assistance is to far away and if it is just you and a buddy you will be in a world of hurt if you have a bad landing. I can only land at an airport so its not like i can pic you up and take you to a hospital by air. More not knowing what kind of plane you have but we have a Cessna 150. Small and slow so it takes much more time to get up to a good altitude. There is only room for 2 and one has to stay in the plane so your jumping solo. Another problem we are running into is we have to fly fast to keep the plane stable when a jumper were to get out. Those 150s dont like parisite drag...sorry problems spelling. Once you get out there isnt a nice place to step and the wheel is not a good one [;). Once you get out of the plane the tail is right there but shouldnt get in your way but I would get low anyways. That is all I could think of right now but sure I could find more cons. It sounds fun and all but if I were you I would stick to paying around 20 bucks to jump out of someone elses plane and let them pay for the gas and the pilot. If I end up making it out of a 150 ill let everyone know. Blue Skies!!
