Paulipod 0 #51 November 27, 2004 Can see where you are coming from, but specifically talking about a throw out BOC - I think its not good to put a student on that on AFF jumps. Maybe on your consols... Reason being, if for whatever reason you are unstable and not with your JMs (ie things are not going well at all!) a RIP makes it easier... As stability is less of a question after those jumps - less likely its a problem. For the most part - like when you learn to drive, probably best to stick to the same car! but some things do need to be different between jump 1 and jump 15 IMHO Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
digitalamnesia 0 #52 November 27, 2004 just reading through and thought id chuck a couple o things in for u, i have only 1 jump but i would neva think of not opening my chute to see if the cypres works, common sense should tell you this, but neva the less nu bes will ask questions which sound silly to more experianced people, and i have started aff and done L1 and i open with the pull and throw it yourself deployment not the spring loaded way (dont know the name lol), my instructer said this was because they have started training people on wot they will use after quilyfing which i think is correct to an extent, eg i would not like to train on a small chute and i do prefer a higher opening aad, incase it did not work i have more panic time to pull pins try anything to open the chute, if it was set to normal/experianced opening alltitude, after you realised (god forbid!) it hasnt worked and youve paniced your probaly not going to have much time left to fiddle and pull and prod ur container......------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain

You shouldn't realize it didn't work. It's up to you to save your own life. It's not something you wait around for. It's the same way with an RSL, chop your main and pull your reserve, don't wait to see if the RSL is gonna do it for you.------------------------------------------------ I've done so much, with so little, for so long I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever
digitalamnesia 0 #54 November 27, 2004 sorry thats wot i meant, after uv treid and treid to open, to save ur life and got to a point where ur aad activates, then if that still dont work then u have more panic time etc, i would neva rely soly on a mechanical device------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
Reginald 0 #55 November 27, 2004 Wow dude not to nit pick, but giant run on sentences, no capitalization and a plethora of spelling mistakes and typos makes it almost impossible to read your posts. Your input, like everyone’s, is valuable so try and make it comprehensible. "We've been looking for the enemy for some time now. We've finally found him. We're surrounded. That simplifies things." christelsabine 1 #60 November 28, 2004 It was a small village near Lavenham, not far from London. Yes, many different accents. The worst English I ever heard was in Korea. It was pulling out my teeth and tortur to my poor ears. dudeist skydiver # 3105
