EDYDO 0 #1 December 4, 2004 It appears Paul Fayard (CSS) has bought the Lake Wales DZ from Betty Hill. Most if not all employees will remain and Betty has agreed to stay for a lengthy period to aid in the transition.
MWGemini 0 #2 December 4, 2004 I'm hesitant to comment on this, as I have no knowledge of the validity of your statement. However, I have jumped at Carolina Sky Sports, owned and operated by Paul Fayard, for about a year and a half, and it's a really great DZ. Great people, great facilities, great aircraft. I've never jumped at Lake Wales, but I'm sure that it will remain/become a great DZ, judging from the things I've seen at CSS. Mike
Tink1717 2 #3 December 5, 2004 Lake Wales was one if the finest DZ facilities I have ever jumped. Their physical facilities (hangar, LZ's, etc..) were second to none. They took a HUGE hit from the hurricanes this summer. It will be interesting to see to what degree this affects their recovery.Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink. (I never heard of you either!!) AA #2069 ASA#33 POPS#8808 Swooo 1717

jumpnrandy 0 #10 December 7, 2004 I heard something about them having a swoop pond now, can anyone confirm this? Yes, the pond is complete. Its Great! Being that it is now a long walk from the new landing area, they always have someone out there in a vehicle to bring you back. These guys/girls have done a hell of a lot of work to get things going again. Be sure you visit them if you are in the area. Randy
