NWFlyer 2 #51 December 22, 2004 Right now, I not only log but I blog (in significantly greater detail). But I'm still a student, so I'm doing/learning/ experiencing something new on every jump and there's plenty to document. I already enjoy going back and looking at my comments and thoughts from my earliest jumps and I imagine it will be really fun when I've been in the sport a while to go back and look at my early jumps, either in my log, my blog, or on video (heck, I'm *already* amused looking at my first video, taken just last Saturday!)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. DZJ 0 #53 December 22, 2004 I like to write reasonably detailed accounts of each jump I make, simply because it makes me think about what I did, rather than simply hop out the door, fall, pull and land. I'm very conscious of having a lot to learn before I can call myself anything like really proficient.
Peej 0 #54 December 22, 2004 I log after every jump. Ritually. I dunno, i love every aspect of the sport (yes, even packing isn't a hassle for me) and i guess i'm just so stoked to be out there doing it that nothing really bothers me. Randy_H 0 #55 December 22, 2004 QuoteMan, i'm liking the idea of logging many jumps at once. I think i'll just use one box per weekend like many are doing, that should save me some writing (which I hate!). Cool, here is the format. here is a sample of what I saw in his log book. 11/20/04 - TJ Dxxxxx 11/20/04 - TJ Dxxxxx 11/20/04 - AFF Dxxxxx 11/20/04 - TJ Dxxxxx 11/20/04 - AFF Dxxxxx 11/20/04 - TJ Dxxxxx about 3 months worth of this on one page!010010010110010101100001011101000111000001110101011100110111001101111001
lauras 0 #56 December 22, 2004 Tony Hathaway does that - one box per day. I think he said he's up to about 800 or so for the year, which is kinda slow for him, and 12,000ish total. His logbook entries look like: 12/01/04 12007 - TV (tandem video) 12008 - AV (AFF video) etc. He has STACKS of all his logbooks. It's pretty cool. Sadly, I rely on my ProTrack & JumpTrack software. I always know how many jumps I have, but I don't dump down as religiously as I should. 90% of my jumps are at one dz, and I know when I've travelled, so it's pretty easy for me to go back and update if I've gone somewhere else. I let my Neptune log the jumps and then fill out my log book at the end of the day or if there is 40 minutes between manifests.010010010110010101100001011101000111000001110101011100110111001101111001

Good ol' Neptune...would be lost without it. Too busy between jumps to log....done at the end of the day.My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. kelel01 1 #59 December 23, 2004 Not at all . . . I tried to keep them in my head, and guess what? I overestimated by 4. So my logbook has 4 extra jumps in it just waiting to become real. My bad. I guess that's why I bounce checks all the time, too. I can't keep everything straight just in my head.
ChileRelleno 0 #60 December 24, 2004 Logging is very important to me, I log all my jumps, usually at the end of the day. I use a rubberstamp for RW and for new states or memorable jumps I do some artwork on the page. New states (40 so far) usually get a artistic map/picture of the state, with the capitol, location of jump, something the state is known for (ie Idaho had pic of a potato) and distinct landmarks (mtn's, rivers or ect..) Memorable jump artwork usually depicts the event ect... Some of y'all have seen my logbook, after 40 states and 80 DZ's...
