Anyone know what the rules are in Australia?

CASA has no issue with it
BUT some of the F&*KTARDS at check in are not trained very well and can at times give you shite.>:(
Most of my issues have been with Virgin employees at Brisbane airport, although I've not tried Melbourne:)

I've gone qantas twice to brisbane, via sydney and adelaide, and I haven't had any problems.

Rig as carry-on in a back pack, straight through the screening process, and out the other side...

My hook knife even made it through once, thought I've taken it off since then.
