Kramer 0 #1 February 5, 2005 Nick Di Giovanni (BASE #194) maintains the BASE Fatality Database. The site has a detailed listing of all fatalities that have occured in the sport of BASE Jumping. Statistically speaking, skydiving might be a walk in the park compared to BASE jumping; but I believe there is value in this site for non-BASE skydivers. I try to read this site every couple of months. I have never made a BASE jump (and do not intend to until I have several hundred more skydives), but this database does an incredible job of making me respect the danger that exists in our aerial games. It can be easy to get that "immortal" feeling in skydiving. None of us are immortal. I know I'm a young pup who doesn't know much, but I believe that all skydivers can benefit from reading this site, even if only on a small level. As much as I've learned from reading this database, it would be nice if Nick never has the need to update it again... Stay safe. The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!! Amanduh 0 #3 February 7, 2005 Thank you for posting this. I read it from top to bottom, and really have learned a lot. I have never done a B.A.S.E. jump, but hope to one day attend Bridge Day and do my first. It is good to know all of the risks out there ahead of time. RIP to those who have lost their lives in the sport.
gordy 0 #4 February 8, 2005 I have read it several times to be honest, and it normally has the effect of making me think of my own mortality.
