freakshow 0 #51 February 6, 2005 QuoteI'm 24, I'm of the electronics generation, the tandem generation and I'm a pepsi generation rebel (I don't like pepsi). But I buy beer for my firsts, whiskey for my rigger and have respect for my skydiving elders who paved the way for me Me too almost to the letter only I like pepsi B.L. kallend 2,108 #54 February 6, 2005 Interesting to compare these poll numbers with the USPA statistics on their web site. DZ.commers are distinctly younger than USPA membership as a whole. A further observation - comparing USPA's numbers for 2001 and 2002 membership years (the latest for which the data are posted) suggests that the average age of the USPA membership is increasing, and doing so quite quickly. Could be that during the recession more young people dropped out than did geezers.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Guru312 0 #55 February 7, 2005 How are you kiddies doing? Gramps here typing at you. I'll be 64 in March. First jump March, 1960 with the 82nd Airborne Division. First sport jump, June 1960 with the XVIII Airborne SPC. My first sport rig was a 28' surplus rig which I turned into a 7 gore TU on old seamstress' sewing machine. I put a few hundred jumps on that rag. My first few sport jumps were without a sleeve retainer line. At the time, jumpers couldn't agree on the safety of the line nor agree on how long it should be. The olde days...I remember them well. Oh, I could go on and on with old jump stories but right now I have to go to the bathroom.Guru312 I am not DB Cooper
