HydroGuy 0 #1 February 22, 2005 I recently completed my AFF course. I am looking for a coach / coaches to help me on my way to the A rating, and in particular canopy work and accuracy on landings. My entire reason for skydiving is for BASE...hence my emphasis on these issues. Any constructive comments are welcome. Thanking you in advance, KurtGet in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
bob.dino 1 #2 February 22, 2005 Why not ring Perris and ask them?
diablopilot 2 #3 February 22, 2005 Posting here is not a bad idea...... The school will take you through the A licence coach dives. As for Canopy coaching, there is the Team Extreme school, plus a few locals that will advise you on what you seek.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. HydroGuy 0 #4 February 22, 2005 I took my AFF courses through Jim Wallace SS. They have been very helpful. Extremely. I am interested in finding coaches other than my current instructors...simply to get a larger knowledge base. Hear things from a different person or perspective. I feel a lot of people have things to offer other than the two people I have worked with thus far. And I know only one person involved in the sport. He will be my BASE mentor...but his USPA Instructor liscenses aren't current, so I am technically not allowed to dive with him as of yet.Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
diablopilot 2 #5 February 22, 2005 At Perris you'll still need to complete your A licence training before using outside coaches, you might beable to switch to the Perris school for that. Knowlage can be had from many on the DZ. Look me up the next time you're out. I'm often found at the wind tunnel.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
quade 4 #6 February 23, 2005 Quote As for Canopy coaching, there is the Team Extreme school, plus a few locals that will advise you on what you seek. Just be sure you tell 'em you want canopy coaching for BASE -- which is significantly different than what most people would go to the Team Extreme boys for. If the goal of all of this is really to get into the BASE scene, my suggestion would be to contact one of the BASE specific people. A good place to start might be Basic Research after you have about 500 skydives under your belt.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

skyyhi 0 #8 February 25, 2005 Dude, your best source is going to be the dz you started at. You may have gotten your original instruction from the Jim Wallace school, but Perris houses some of the BEST instructors you could possibly ever want to jump with. You will not go wrong sticking with them.________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
