You mean...other than CRW dogs? ;)

Yep...high alti hop 'n' pops are awesome! Soon as the weather gets nicer up here in the great white north, I'm going to be doing a few more. B|

They're great!

I did my first last month (Canada, -17C, hands got fricken cold).

It was a nice way to end a busy day in the air. Take in the scenery, have some fun, and try out my new canopy.

I'll definatly be doing more of them this summer.

Hell yeah, cross countries are the best! Sitting in brakes at 10k on the last load of the day... looking out over the world... man, there are few things in life better than that.

You need to finish your student program so you can do this stuff, dude.

I do a lot of high pulls not only to wring out my canopy in order to learn it but it's also fun to sneak up on tandems and other big canopies (not to mention preplanned high pulls with other fun jumpers). Plus I'm not up there that long when I'm under the Velo. So I don't worry too much about getting cold. Pulling high is a great way to become a better canopy pilot. I highly recommend doing it.

Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

its the best way to end a hard day of work!!

There's nothing like doing an altitude hop&pop with a couple buddies and flying around each other, doint some CReW and some formation flying then ending it all with a hot swoop on sunset load.

That's what the staff at my DZ likes to do for sunset after a hard day of instructing and packing during the summer.:)

to bad we have to stay away from clouds:(

Not in Africa!

that's because you don't have clouds in Africa, just plain mean sunny weather :P

we have clouds in Switz and we can fly through, above and under them.

It's just as fun on night jumps.B|

One of the prettiest jumps I've done was with a pretty full moon and a low mist hanging over the ground. Opened about 6000' just to enjoy the view. Kept expecting a dragon to swoop by.

But it's not particularly quite with 20 or 30 mph wind noise. For quite jump a round!:P

I threw a Phat 360 R front Riser HOOK and swooped that FOREVER ... Cuz the ground was still 6000 ft below and for a LONG LONG while thats as close as its gonna be when I play with my front riser turns. I'v done 3 or 4 HAHO (well the civilian no oxygen carried versions anyway) GREAT view, You can really really really push your main as hard as you've ever pushed it. You LEARN a ton, just don't make the mistake of thinking because you tried it up high you've got any chance of surviving it down low. ASK YOUR INSTRUCTORS. I did my first High opening to find the limits of my main, A Deep Hard Stall, knowing this could end in a cutaway. First time I tried flat turns, riser turns, rear riser flair (up to the stall point) the difference in feeling between slowly bringing the toggles all the way down and STABBING them down hard. I spooked myself with one or two of these but I was last out, open High, had the air to myself (lookout for Traffic anyway) and had tons of alt to fix any problems I might have caused.... I hate snow, I hate cold, I miss the sky
