ladyskydiver 0 #2 March 10, 2005 You mean...other than CRW dogs? Yep...high alti hop 'n' pops are awesome! Soon as the weather gets nicer up here in the great white north, I'm going to be doing a few more. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. beowulf 1 #3 March 10, 2005 Sure I have done that a few times. I have also done some CReW. Make sure you let everyone know what you are planning. Especially the pilot.
marks 0 #4 March 10, 2005 spring time when the cloud towers are building. underneath a high performance canopie. shooting through the tunnels in the cloud at 60+ miles an hour is ALOT of fun. to bad we have to stay away from clouds
MrBrant 0 #5 March 10, 2005 They're great! I did my first last month (Canada, -17C, hands got fricken cold). It was a nice way to end a busy day in the air. Take in the scenery, have some fun, and try out my new canopy. I'll definatly be doing more of them this summer.
Dougiefresh 0 #6 March 10, 2005 Hell yeah, cross countries are the best! Sitting in brakes at 10k on the last load of the day... looking out over the world... man, there are few things in life better than that. ianmdrennan 2 #9 March 10, 2005 at LEAST once a month. This last weekend I did 2 from altitude and it's still cold. I do love it, but it tires the crap outta my arms after a day of jumping. Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
CanuckInUSA 0 #10 March 10, 2005 I do a lot of high pulls not only to wring out my canopy in order to learn it but it's also fun to sneak up on tandems and other big canopies (not to mention preplanned high pulls with other fun jumpers). Plus I'm not up there that long when I'm under the Velo. So I don't worry too much about getting cold. Pulling high is a great way to become a better canopy pilot. I highly recommend doing it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
Pendejo 0 #11 March 10, 2005 In South Carolina in the summer (100 in the shade with 90% humidity) its the best way to end a hard day of work!! Pendejo He who swoops the ditch and does not get out buys the BEER!!
AggieDave 6 #12 March 10, 2005 Quoteits the best way to end a hard day of work!! There's nothing like doing an altitude hop&pop with a couple buddies and flying around each other, doint some CReW and some formation flying then ending it all with a hot swoop on sunset load. That's what the staff at my DZ likes to do for sunset after a hard day of instructing and packing during the summer.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." One of the prettiest jumps I've done was with a pretty full moon and a low mist hanging over the ground. Opened about 6000' just to enjoy the view. Kept expecting a dragon to swoop by.
