Is this for real?

Just sent a fraud alert to ebay
don't know if it will do any good

Please keep us up to date on Ebay's response. I've found that they are VERY good about getting back to email.

To save everyone some time, don't bother using "Ebay Live Help" for an issue like this. For legal purposes they need documentation of all complaints. Live Help will tell you to send an email.

If any more emails are sent to Ebay, please keep the following in mind: Ebay won't care about the ethical issues involved in selling a canopy that went in. While it is despicable, it's not illegal and Ebay will only be concerned with the law and protecting their users, meaning potential victim/buyers. Without proof that something in this auction is fraudulent, I doubt if Ebay will take it down.

I highly doubt that this canopy is related to a fatality anyway. I think that story is simply a selling point for Omnipotential.

I wish there was some way to alert potential Ebay buyers to these frauds and scams. Something like HH's SCAM ALERT. Scams are bad enough with regular products, but for skydiving gear we're talking about more than losing money. For example, See Paul Eriksmoen's (JumpHog) post in General Skydiving called Beware of Kenny Ruetsch selling a Sabre 107.

One important thing when buying on Ebay:
CHECK THE SELLERS FEEDBACK IN DETAIL!!!!
I don't mean just their percentage or their feedback numbers. Read all of their feedback, look into the negatives they've received, look into the feedback they've left for others. This can give you so much valuable information about the reputability of the seller.

Ebayers, please PM me if you have any thoughts like my Feedback advice.

DO NOT IGNORE THIS GUY--- he is a cockroach, and the best weapon is LIGHT-- LOTS AND LOTS OF LIGHT!!! Send complaints to eBay staff including the auction #-- and the FAA was a GREAT CALL!!! I'm not sure (since I'm new to this site), but I think I must be a "WHUFFO" (not a diver?)-- but if I can be forgiven that, LET'S GO AFTER THIS TOXIC SCUM FLOATING ON THE TOP OF THE SLUDGE IN A DRAINAGE DITCH FLOWING OUT OF THE TOXINS PIT OF A MEDICAL WASTE DISPOSAL SITE.....

Who are you?

I ditto that. Probably is the guy selling the canopy. Maybe trying to get the bids up or more hits?

I agree, probably not involved in a fatality. I did a search and could not find any skydiving fatalities that fit that profile in MI. Plus if it was a fatality, that idiot who died deserves the Darwin award.

Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

I got a response from Strong the other day. They didnt mention anything about the serial number, but did say the strong reserves were not involved in any incidents resembling the one the seller described.

Stong was interested in getting a hold of the canopy (if there was one).
