Be gentle, it's my first time.........

Recommended Posts

You will be falling towards the earth very fast. Because of this, it will be windy and because of the wind it will be very loud and because of this, it may (at first) be very intense. But once you learn how to block out the noise, it can be a very calm and a relaxing environment and it will be time to get down to business in flying your body through the air. Plus remember that any issues you have flying your body through the air can be resolved sometime within your next 10,000 jumps.

Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

here's a story - you can click here and read my original journal posting about my first tandem. i am now most of the way through aff. one of those girls who went with me went back with me a month ago where i jumped aff 6 and she did her second (working) tandem. it was fun.

it makes me laugh, even now, to go back and see what i wrote. i can't imagine how much i will laugh at it when i have 100 and 1000 and however many more jumps... :P
life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.

Just interested in hearing any first time experiences. I'm looking to make my first jump soon. What can I expect? Anything I should look out for??

We had an instructor in our static line course handling the radio to help students land. The first thing he'd say when their canopy opened was "You're gonna die."

Me personally, I was very scared, but as soon as I was out of the plane I knew it was where I belonged. This is an incredible sport.

Well, firstly there are DZ.commers at literally every DZ in the US and a lot of DZs outside of the US...so where are you going to go jump?

Also, do you know about the Skyride SCAM and why you shoudln't use it?

OH, one more thing, besure to get video (you can never ever ever do your first jump again) and SMILE.:)

Good for you for reconsidering. Maybe you found two lumpy things in your pants after all (at the front I hope). You'll have a blast. Its like facing your own imminent death (except that is extraordinarily rare), and in a buddhist sense that makes you feel very alive. If you bottle out again you will feel like a muppet.

Good luck
