Jumping out of a 207

Recommended Posts

If they're using the front door, exit will be the same as any other Cessna's, like 182's, 206's or 210's.

If they're using the cargo door exits are from the right, and can be dived, poised or any other config.

A 207 is a very small plane?!? Jump an ultralight sometime, it'll change your perspctive on that.:P

I've only jumped from a 207's cargo door, but it wasn't bad. You won't have as much room as with an Otter, and everything will be reversed since it's on the right side. Go over the exit at the DZ in any case with an instructor.

Yup- you certainly get your money's worth with the ride! I have been in a turbo 207 for close to 40 minutes getting to 13,500. And yes, you have to be very careful about getting too much weight towards the back. It is a very difficult plane to front float on and can be awkward with groups over 4. Of course, you aren't getting any bigger tha a 6 way.;)

Probably my least favorite jump plane I have jumped in my 10 years in the sport.

Skydive long island. I have reservations about jumping out of it, just because I know it will be cramped (I hadn't considered that it would take longer to get to altitude), and I imagine as people go out, the plane must really wobble and shift from the weight difference of people exiting! Not sure as a newbie who has only jumped out of an Otter, Caravan, and skyvan, if it is something I'm willing to try. Then again, if I don't, I'll have to wait til the 30th when the caravan returns!!!

Sjeesh.... It's an ok plane ya know ;) Not everybody is lucky enough to jump out of Otters. In fact, we don't have any in this country! The 207 is still bigger than other planes we regularly use (206, 182, 172). OK I prefer our Caravan too because it's easier to float and stuff. But smaller planes make a nice change of pace.

Relax and go jump!

Todays sport jumpers, LOL.
When I started all we had was a C-170 or a C-172, both hold only 3 jumpers, a C-207 was a big plane, even better if it had a turbo.
Otters and skyvans were something we just dreamed about, A beech-18 or DC-3 was a big deal, today there "vintage jump planes" and you get to pay more for the ticket, LOL.
Hey try it you might like, being smaller it won't be as hard to guess who ripped that nasty smell.:P
