skip 0 #1 April 6, 2005 Do you have two or more rigs and use them both? I’m sure I left out some scenarios if so just write them in. neilp
TALONSKY 0 #2 April 6, 2005 I have two rigs and use both of them. I have one hooked up at all times to my wingsuit and the other is used for any other kind of skydive. I am a tandem instructor and find on busy weekends if I want to fun jump I usually have 10 minutes or less to get ready. I also use my non-wingsuit rig for my highest performance canopy. councilman24 37 #4 April 6, 2005 I haven't had less than two rigs since a year after I started jumping 26 years ago. For awhile they included a right hand throw out with a square, a right hand ripcord with a square, and a right hand ripcord with a ROUND. Then a right hand throw out with a square, a LEFT hand throw out with a square, and a right hand ripcord with a round. I used to do a lot of jumpmastering and would use these rigs interchangably. Since I got rid of the left hand throwout and stopped jumping the round I've always had at least two rigs. Right now I have three, two freefall rigs and a CRW rig. Along with enough pieces parts to put together at least three more rigs, including square mains, round mains, round reserves as mains, round and square reserves. Some of the stuff I'd jump. Some I wouldn't. Just last year I jumped a Phantom 28' round as a main. (Into the peas Sometimes I wish I wasn't a pack rat..... hmmmmmm, NOT REALY!I'm old for my age. DrewEckhardt 0 #6 April 6, 2005 Quote Do you have two or more rigs and use them both? Three. Reflex R335/Samurai 105/PD143R to have fun under canopy after most jumps. Reflex R335/Monarch 135/Tempo 150 for wingsuit jumps without unlacing or jumping an aggressive canopy. Makes it easier to get on the sunset tracking dive, although other back to back loads are rare. I've used it for a few CRW jumps and wouldn't mind having a Lightning 126. I also have a Stiletto 120 to stick in there if I want to use it for heavier jumping without a wingsuit. Javelin J7/various/Raven 3 for practice before jumping into tight landing areas with my 244/245 BASE canopies. It'll get used for my wedding and other demos too. Five if I count the two BASE rigs. Stunts Extreme/Fox 245 - it sinks real nice. It could do double duty as a ground launch harness. I got it used as my first rig so the price was right. Warlock/Dagger 244 - it's custom so the harness is more comfortable and the Dagger has more drive to go farther under canopy. Having more than one allows for more jumps when the winds or light will be right for a limited time. It cuts the amount of packing I need to do outside. I could use a third one. I think skydiving and BASE equipment breeds after it's spent enough time in the sport.
BillyVance 35 #7 April 6, 2005 I have two rigs, and a spare main... My Infinity rig with Triathlon 120, I use for most freefall jumps. My Vector II with Lightning 143 for CRW. I also have a Triathlon 150 for use with the Vector as a back-up rig... IvanPeters 0 #8 April 6, 2005 You missed "I have one rig and need more." Two rigs and a dedicated packer would be nice. Maybe three rigs in case one is out of action for a bit. Ivan
CanuckInUSA 0 #9 April 6, 2005 I have two skydiving rigs and two more BASE jumping rigs plus a partial Ground Launching setup. I'm thinking that I need one possibly two more BASE setups (one for terminal jumps and one small BASE canopy for swooping at the bridge) and of course I'm thinking that I need at least one more cross-braced skydiving canopy. Different jumps require different tools. There is no one size fits all in this sport. SkymonkeyONE 4 #10 April 6, 2005 I have three rigs: a swoop/AFF/Fun rig with a Velo in it, a BirdMan/spare rig with a Sabre2 97 in it, and a Racer Tandem with a Firebolt 350 in it. I jump them all quite regularly.

flyangel2 2 #12 April 6, 2005 I use to have two RW rigs, but not that I don't make my living working at a DZ, I sold one RW rig. I still have my CReW rig, but I can't seem to get in the air much to use it I'm thinking it's almost time to sell it.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. billvon 3,092 #16 April 6, 2005 I have three right now. Reflex/Nitro 108/PD143 for most of my jumping Icon/Pilot 117/Smart 135 which is a second rig - it's too new and clean to drag through the dirt all the time Talon/Gen-X 150/PD160R wingsuit rig
pilotdave 0 #17 April 7, 2005 I have two, but they've never both been jumpable at the same time. Just never sold my old rig when I bought a new one. Doubt I'm gonna find a buyer for a black/pink reflex, PD-150, and microraven 120. I might pack it up and use it as a spare rig at some point... probably with a new main though. Don't even want to TRY landing an F111 main after getting spoiled by a Sabre2. Dave
CloudOnMyTongue 0 #18 April 7, 2005 I own half of a rig. I can not afford a whole one, but it's cheaper than renting one.
Tonto 1 #19 April 7, 2005 I have 2 rigs and I use them both. I could use a 3rd by then having 1 permanently dedicated to Birdman. My Mirage G4 is primarily for AFF, and my Mirage G3 is primarily for Birdman, but serves as a back to back when I'm busy working hard. Both rigs are custom, handles and hook knives in the same place, identical reserves. Mains are an eliptical 107 for AFF and a "tapered" 109 for Birdman. I have a dedicated packer and put my ground time into briefing/debriefing. tIt's the year of the Pig.
btucker 0 #20 April 7, 2005 For team trainning I do back 2 backs, so I need two rigs. I had a third but I sold it to pay for the next rainning camp. The 3rd was a great spare for me and the team - mals, repacks, cypres service (10 weeks down here).... Blue ones.

riggerrob 643 #23 April 7, 2005 Strong tandem is my primary rig. Talon 2 containing Stiletto 135, Amigo 172 and Cypres that I use on most PFF dives. Vector 1.5 containing Ariel 150 and square reserve is my back-up rig and will become my wingsuit rig - as soon as I can afford a wingsuit.
