Superman32 0 #1 April 12, 2005 I just graduated AFF on Sat. and I have not had to repeat any jumpsDuring my progression I had 2 shaky levels *Level 2, I briefly lost altitude awareness, but realized it in enough time to pull myself. Level 2 was also my off landing where I ended up in someone's backyard I PLF'd but it was by far my softest touch down ever *Level 5 I was very stiff and did not really feel in control, just kept trying to compensate in order to remain in control -- It had been nearly 2 monts since my last jump (bad weather) -- but good enough to make and stop my 360's and dock with the JM. Every level after, I was rock solid and in complete control I had soooo much fun I was only able to get 2 jumps in on Sund my first high solo and a hop and pop. The absolutely loooovve doing loops, rolls and tracking. This is definitely one of the best things that I have ever done Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches! AggieDave 6 #2 April 12, 2005 Congrats! I've got to warn you though, I had a perfect student progression as well, but then found out very quickly that my skills sucked because I didn't have really hard learning experiences during my student progression. So I "got" to learn them later, without my instructors hanging out with me in the air.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #4 April 12, 2005 My honest opinion would be to find a good coach for your coach jumps. You're a smart guy, you can tell what coaches on your DZ are really badass and those that may not be (I wouldn't know, I've never been there), so pick a good coach and learn everything you can while you complete the rest of your A license prof. card. I'm a VERY big fan of Skydive U, but like anything else, there are good coaches and bad coaches. It also costs a little bit of money, but then again I've seen folks with very few jumps walk away from a SDU coach being incredibly good fliers. Hell, my fiance walked away with less then 80 jumps when she finished SDU and she was flying a hell of a lot better then folks with over 500 jumps that I know. I guess the biggest thing to suggest is to not do what I did. Since I blew through the student program with no problems, I thought my shit didn't stink and I had a handle on skydiving. Now, well over 1000 jumps later, I realize that I wasn't even close, I was lucky. If I would have known that back then I would be a better skydiver today.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Jeth 0 #6 April 12, 2005 Fuck you Mr. Smart Ass!! (J/K, in case you didn't know. ) Congrats on graduating! And like Dave said, I'm just getting more practice with a coach there than U got. Seriously, tho, I'm sure it feels great to graduate. I can't wait to get there myself. "At 13,000 feet nothing else matters." PFRX!!!!! fluffcake 0 #8 April 12, 2005 Wow, congrats man! I'm getting there myself, a few more trips to the DZ I hope You finished up at XKeys on Sat? I called and they told me they weren't jumping any students cause of heavy wind gusts. Ohh well, maybe this weekend. Maybe i'll be seeing you around
Superman32 0 #9 April 12, 2005 Yeah, I got there around 11:00 and didn't get to jump until about 4:30 - 5:00. For most of the day, the winds at 3K were around 30 mph and nothing on the ground. Sunday, was super busy and with only the otter and chopper flying, I didn't get to jump until 6pm (got there at 1:30) hence only 2 jumps Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches! JohnMitchell 16 #10 April 12, 2005 Fantastic. You must have paid attention in class. Sounds like you got a great start in our sport. Heed AggieDave's advice, though. I've heard Air Force studies show that pilots who graduate in the top of the class are as likely to have a mishap as those in the very bottom of the class. The middle path is the best, grasshopper. I'm my own monument to longevity through mediocrity.

chuckbrown 0 #12 April 12, 2005 Congrats, I did the same thing when AFF was only 7 jumps. But then I had back-to-back reserve rides before I had 20 jumps (pilot chute in tow & AAD misfire). This is a great sport, just don't forget there's a very thin line between ecstasy and agony.
