(someone suggested that when they were young they were a big fan of Evil Knievel...) and had always considerd a stunt of jumping into a stadium or such filled with foam rubber or something. and we thought about how long it took for the parachute to open (minimum of 200-300 ft) in addition to that it is a staged opening which provides a relatively controled decelleration. We concluded that it would be possible (not only that it would require impecable spotting...) ScottLivin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
